This accessible 1-hour singing session invites you to explore our right to breathe clean air by singing songs that connect us with the nature and air that surround us. The workshop will be led by experienced singing leader Louise Macdonald and ‘singing for breathing’ researcher and practitioner Dr Sophie Boyd. They will use a range of physical and vocal warm-ups, breathing exercises, and easy-to-learn songs to explore your voice and breath among the trees and green space of Pollok Park.
The meeting point is at the forecourt of the Burrell Collection, and the group will then move to a suitable nearby open space. In the event of rain, the group will take advantage of the tree cover. In the event of extremely bad weather, the event will not be able to take place. Please register via our Eventbrite to keep updated. Feel free to bring a folding/camp chair. Hot drinks will be provided.
People of all ages and singing abilities are welcome!
The event has been organised in collaboration with Being Human Festival, the University of Glasgow’s ‘The Dear Green Bothy’, and Spheres of Singing Arts Lab.
