Mark Banks will be talking about the politics of climate change in relation to popular culture and the arts at “Democratizing Climate Politics,” a symposium and network launch which will brings together international researchers to discuss the role of media, culture and communications in climate politics.
Amongst the questions that will be raised are: how can cultural and media institutions respond more strongly and democratically to climate change? What are the potentials and barriers to democratizing political processes in the transition toward a more sustainable society? How can new narratives strengthen climate responsibility and critical thinking around the organisation of cultural production?
